After nearly 16 years with Box-it North West, our Customer Services Director, Maggie Lloyd will be retiring on 24th May 2018. She will, of course, be greatly missed not just by her colleagues but also by our clients.
Maggie joined us in July 2002 when there were just five full-time people in the Box-it North West team. She had previously worked as a PA for two Patent Attorneys in Chester, and having got married and having her daughter, she returned to work at Phillips The Auctioneer’s in Chester on a temporary placement for half a day – and stayed there for 10 years! “This is where I attained my love for art and antiques,” says Maggie who is particular fan of Clarice Cliff ceramics.
Joining Box-it North West, it was initially just Peter and Maggie who made up the ‘office team’ with Peter concentrating on sales and Maggie handling administration, accounts, operations and customer service and “doing a lot of typing”! Maggie soon progressed to producing work orders, overseeing destructions, HR, wages, marketing and it wasn’t long before she was visiting clients, sometimes accompanying the drivers in the vans.
The Box-it North West business (and team) continued to grow, and Maggie’s roles evolved too, from Office Manager to Customer Services Manager, and ultimately Customer Services Director.
“I have always loved meeting and talking to Box-it’s clients, building-up relationships and telling them more about new products and services. These clients feel like friends now and this is something I will really miss,” says Maggie who, of course, in latter years has spent a great deal of time visiting clients for Omnidox Records Manager (ORM) demos and training sessions; such has been the popularity of the system.
ORM is now widely used by our document storage clients for the online management of their physical archives, and Maggie has certainly been instrumental in its success.
Maggie now looks forward to a new phase in her life, dedicating time to Alfie, her 15-month old grandson and the rest of her family. Together with husband, Ged, she is looking to relocate to the South to be closer to them.
It’s not just family either that Maggie wants to dedicate more time to. Her other passion is show ponies, and she hopes to attend local shows as well as equestrian events that are further afield. And, as for travel, Maggie already has plans for holidays in Gran Canaria and Malta, and has every intention of a trip to New Zealand and Australia. She and Ged are big fans of Rugby League, Wigan Warriors in particular, which will continue to take them all over the country.
Maggie goes on to say, “To our clients, I will miss you all and thank you for all the consideration you have shown me over the last 16 years. As for the Box-it team I am leaving, they are all great and I will miss them enormously. They are, indeed, the best team I have ever worked alongside and Peter Willis has been the most amazing boss.”
And Maggie, we will all certainly miss you too and on behalf of the entire Box-it North West team, we wish you all the very best in your retirement and thank you for the last 16 years.Posted on: May 14th, 2018
