Many organisations have a need to outsource their document shredding in the northwest. At Box-it North West, we offer two types of confidential shredding service available to clients throughout the northwest, namely Onsite Shredding and Offsite Shredding. In this article, we explain our shredding process in more detail, and explain the differences between onsite and offsite document shredding.

Requesting our Shredding Service

We can provide you with an instant, very competitive quote for document shredding in the northwest. You can book our shredding service as and when you need it, or as a regular scheduled service on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Our local account managers will advise on the best type of document shredding service to suit your business needs.

Those clients already storing with us can set review dates, and request destruction of stored documents when they come to the end of their retention periods. Documents can be destroyed direct from storage by special written instruction.

Document Shredding in the Northwest

We offer document shredding to clients throughout the northwest. Areas covered include Cheshire, Liverpool and Merseyside, Great Manchester, Lancashire and North Wales.

Onsite Document Shredding

A ‘Box-it’ branded mobile shredding lorry comes to your premises, which is about the size of a refuse cart. It parks up and shreds your documents onsite. It’s a very popular, fast and secure service and ideal if you want to oversee the shredding process. If you are using this service regularly, we can provide secure lockable consoles as well as sacks and wheelie bins.

Offsite Document Shredding

We provide you with sacks to fill. You fill these up to a maximum weight of 16kg, and then use the security zip ties (which come complete with barcodes) to fasten the sacks. We scan the barcodes on collection and transport the full sacks back to our secure data centre for destruction. All our vehicles have GPS tracking and each barcoded sack is monitored throughout each phase of movement, right through to destruction.

Certificates of Destruction and Waste Transfer Notes

Whether using onsite or offsite shredding services, we provide you with Certificates of Destruction and Waste Transfer Notes to legally confirm that your documents have been destroyed. A full audit trail of movement is provided. You retain these for your records.

Peace of Mind with our Shredding Service

Shredding with Box-it North West is in accordance with BS 15713:2009, which is the recognised standard for secure data destruction (generally considered to be “an excellent benchmark” for the industry) and guarantees a compulsory minimum ‘shred size’. Security level 3 is the minimum standard while level 6 is the highest for top secret information. Our normal standard is level 3 (15mm wide strips) but we can also shred in accordance with level 6 if required. We only ever use our own Box-it Northwest staff and all employees are uniformed and DBS security screened.

Safecontractor Accreditation

We also have Safecontractor accreditation for added reassurance of our high standards in health and safety procedures, and in recognition of our track record for safe practice.

Caring for the Environment

When you use Box-it North West’s document shredding services, your paper is shredded, baled and recycled into new paper products. At Box-it North West we also go that step further in caring from the environment. In December 2015 and January 2016, we planted over 300 trees in Cheshire as an environmental payback for the amount of shredding completed, which helps offset our carbon footprint.
